Flower from Caleb

Caleb gave me a flower from the garden today. Isn't it beautiful?
I've seen these shrubs around, but ever taken the time to study them closely. Now I am itching to have a go at drawing these flowers. If any of you happen to know what the plant is called, I would love to know!

Gorgeous photos. I need more detail to be able to work out what they are, but my guess is they are in the rose family - Rosaceae. They are flowering now? I'd be interested to see the fruit once they have developed... send me a photo on email!

Hey, Prue, shouldn't you be sleeping, or feeding your baby? Congratulations! I'll pop over to your blog and say it properly later! Anyway, someone emailed to suggest that it might be fejoia. I haven't had a chance to look at it further yet.

Yep, looking it up, I agree - it does look like a feijoa - never heard of them. And so I was wrong about the family, but Myrtaceae would have been my next guess. : )

Sleeping? What would I do that for?! ; )
